Student membership details:
Available to non-licensed acupuncturists who are enrolled, at least half-time, in a program that is at least one academic year’s duration and is approved by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture. ($6/mo, $13 quarterly or $50/yr)
Note: licensed acupuncturists enrolled in educational programs such as a DAOM or DACM (completion doctorate) are not eligible for student membership.
Student Members are eligible to:
- Serve on the Board of Directors
Student members may not vote on matters submitted to the membership for vote, including the election of the Board of Directors. Student members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors if elected but may not serve as officers of the association.

Associate Member
Non-voting MemberAllied Health Professionals
- Health care practitioners who support the goals and ideals of the NMSAAM. An Allied Health Professional will receive any newsletters, announcements, and information published by the Association and possesses non-voting membership privileges for such services provided by the Association to its membership. This category of member may serve on committees, but may not serve as a director, officer or committee chairperson.
Out of state acupuncturists
- Acupuncturists who are licensed or an NCCAOM Board-Certified acupuncturist, but not licensed to practice in New Mexico. Also appropriate for acupuncturists licensed outside of the United States that do not hold a New Mexico License.
Legacy Member
Non-voting MemberLegacy
- Available to acupuncturists who have a New Mexico DOM license in inactive status and are retired from the active practice of acupuncture but wish to support the goals of NMSAAM as part of their ongoing legacy of contributions to the profession.
- Legacy members have the full benefits and privileges of professional members and are encouraged to serve on the board of directors, committees, and as officers of the organization to help cement their legacy and guide the new generation of acupuncturists in New Mexico.
Supporting Members are eligible to:
- Serve on the Board of Directors
Associate members may not vote on matters submitted to the membership for vote, including the election of the Board of Directors. Individual associate members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors if elected but may not serve as officers of the association.
