 Professional Members are eligible to:

  • Vote on all matters submitted for a vote of the membership, including election of the Board of Directors
  • Serve on the Board of Directors
  • Serve as Officers of the Board.

Professional membership types:

1st Year of Licensure. Available to practitioners who are currently licensed to practice acupuncture by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture, and in their 1st year of licensure. ($10/mo, $30 quarterly or $100/yr)

2nd Year of Licensure. Available to practitioners who are currently licensed to practice acupuncture by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture, and in their 2nd year of licensure. ($10/mo, $30 quarterly or $100/yr)

3+ Year of Licensure. Available to practitioners who are currently licensed to practice acupuncture by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture, and in their 3rd+ year of licensure. ($14/mo, $40 quarterly or $150/yr)

Student Members are eligible to:

  • Serve on the Board of Directors

Student members may not vote on matters submitted to the membership for vote, including the election of the Board of Directors. Student members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors if elected but may not serve as officers of the association.

*No credits issued.

Student membership details:

Available to non-licensed acupuncturists who are enrolled, at least half-time, in a program that is at least one academic year’s duration and is approved by the New Mexico Board of Acupuncture. ($6/mo, $13 quarterly or $50/yr)

Note: licensed acupuncturists enrolled in educational programs such as a DAOM or DACM (completion doctorate) are not eligible for student membership.

Supporting Members are eligible to:

Associate members are may not vote on matters submitted to the membership for vote, including the election of the Board of Directors. Individual associate members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors if elected but may not serve as officers of the association.

*Credits issued to Out-of-State practitioners for NCCAOM-approved CEUs

Supporting membership types:

Allied Health Professional: this membership is open to health care practitioners who support the goals and ideals of the NMSAAM.  An Allied Health Professional will receive any newsletters, announcements, and information published by the Association and possesses non-voting membership privileges for such services provided by the Association to its membership. This category of member may serve on committees, but may not serve as a director, officer or committee chairperson. ($100/yr.)

 Out-of-State Professional Member. Available to practitioners who are licensed or an NCCAOM Board-Certified acupuncturist, but not licensed to practice in New Mexico. An Out-of-State Professional Member may not hold office, may not vote, and may not serve as a committee chair, but may serve on committees. An Out-of-State Professional Member possesses reduced rights and privileges as may be specified by the Board of Directors. ($10/mo, $30 quarterly or $100/yr.)

Friend of Acupuncture. A Friend of Acupuncture is an individual who is not actively engaged in the study or practice of acupuncture, but who supports the aims of this Association. Any person or organization wishing to support the Association may subscribe to membership and will receive any newsletters, announcements, and information published by the Association, and possesses non-voting membership privileges for such services provided by the Association to its membership. A Friend of Acupuncture may serve on committees, but may not serve as a director, officer or committee chairperson.  ($100/yr.)

Retired/Inactive Membership. Available to practitioners who no longer earn income as a practitioner of any activity for which a license to practice acupuncture is required. ($75/yr)

Patron of Acupuncture. Available to those who are not actively engaged in the study or practice of acupuncture, but who supports the aims of this Association and makes a substantial contribution to advance the goals of the NMSAAM. Any person or organization wishing to support the Association may subscribe to membership and will receive any newsletters, announcements, and information published by the Association, and possesses non-voting membership privileges for such services provided by the Association to its membership. Patrons of Acupuncture may serve on committees, but may not serve as a director, an officer or committee chairperson. ($750/yr.)
