The New Mexico Society for Acupuncture and Asian Medicine (NMSAAM) will have it’s annual meeting on Saturday the 22nd of August; see previous announcements for schedule and how to join the online meeting via Zoom. A key part of our annual meeting is the election of directors and officers that make up the NMSAAM Board of Directors (BOD).
NMSAAM governance committee is now accepting nominations for Directors (board members) and Officers (see officer positions below). Pursuant to the by laws of The Society, every position is a one year term and up for ellection (or re-election) at each annual meeting. Every position will be voted on by the membership present at the annual meeting.
This is your chance to guide not just NMSAAM but the profession in New Mexico and beyond!

Directors (board members)
In addition to the four officers, our by laws permit up to seven (7) additional directors as members of the board. The board meets approximately every month or every other month for 1 to 2 hours. Additional projects and time commitments are decided on by consensus of the board based on the number of board members and their assessment of their individual capacity. The more board members we have, the more the board can do for our members and ultimately our profession!

To be placed on the ballot for our annual meeting, submit a letter of intent to governance@nmsaam.org
A letter of intent should fit on a single page and contain an affirmative statement indicating desire and willingness to serve on the NMSAAM Board of Directors and any Officer positions the candidate wishes to be placed on the ballot for. It may also contain a brief summary of qualifications and intentions the candidate intends to pursue, if elected.
Any member that submits a letter of intent by Monday 17 August will be placed on the ballot at the meeting on the 22nd; in addition any member who submits a letter of intent will be alotted two (2) minutes of time at the annual meeting to address the membership and state their intent to serve on the board of directors.
